Secure Redact: step-by-step

6 simple steps on how to use Secure Redact, with our easy to follow HOW-to videos.

Step 1: Upload and review your video

Upload and review your video to make sure that all the faces/number plates that you need to redact have been detected with an orange redaction box over them.

Navigate through the video using the video controls: for a Complete Overview of all the Secure Redact buttons, including keyboard shortcuts, visit here.

Step 2: If you need to keep an individual (or subject) visible

To keep one individual visible and everyone else blurred, follow these 4 steps:

Add an alias to the entity associated with that individual.

This will make it easier to navigate the Entities Panel on the right.

Add all tracks associated with that individual to that entity.

Group all the relevant tracks for that individual into the same entity.

Take tracks out of the entity that may not be associated with the individual.

Take any tracks out of the entity that do not correspond to the same individual.

If needed, unredact the entity.

Unredact the entity to make that individual visible whilst everyone else is blurred. The orange boxes corresponding to that individual will not appear from the video.

Step 3: Add tracks to any faces/objects

Adding a new track will mean that an object will be tracked for redaction from that particular frame onward until you choose when the redaction will end.

You’ll add tracks if there are any faces or specific objects that have not been automatically tracked for redaction.

For more on adding a new track, visit here.

Step 4: Clean up any false positives

You can remove multiple automatically or manually added redaction boxes and tracks - all at once.
